The Law Related to Fireworks

 

All fireworks sold in the UK must comply with British Standard BS7114 and every firework must have this printed on it.

 

It is illegal to sell fireworks to anyone under the Age of 18 Years

 

It is illegal for anyone under the Age of 18 to be in possesion of fireworks in a public place

 

It is illegal to set fireworks off between the hours of 11.00PM and 7.00AM exceot in the following cases:

 

NOVEMBER 5th - Legal until MIDNIGHT

NEW YEAR'S EVE - Legal until 1.00AM on the Following Day

CHINESE NEW YEAR - Legal until 1.00AM on the Following Day

DIWALI - Legal until 1.00AM on the Following Day

 

It is illegal to set off fireworks in any highway, street, thoroughfare or public place

 

It is an offence to cause unneccesary suffering to any domestic or captive animal

 

It is illegal for retailers to sell caps, cracker snaps, novelty matches, party poppers, serpents and throwdowns to anyone under 16 Years of Age
